Hell is other people
You fight ghosts, which follow the paths of previous players. So you're fighting a recording, and that recording was fighting against a previous recording, all the way back to when I waggled the ship about in the editor. I've called this "asynchronous multiplayer", and the name kinda caught on, to my surprise.

The Beast
The London Hackspace arcade machine, that I helped assemble with Joe Bain. We eagerly welcome more games to go on it!

CUBES
A game of dodging cubes. An interesting experiment in novel control schemes and minimal graphics. I'm most pleased with the way it induces flow. Originally made at a Cambridge Friendship Club game jam.

SPHERES
A elaboration on CUBES, it wasn't quite as fun.

"Cave game"
Sadly neglected, this project was to make a game that was played via vibration feedback into a specialized helpmet. Navigating via vibration and sound, you would have to avoid monsters and approach the seductive siren at the end of the cave system. The tech works, but the gameplay needs a bit more iteration. And it is difficult to demonstrate, as it requires the specialized helmet I created.

QR code magic - (github)
An experiment in wrapping js1k entries in a bookmarklet, and hence in a QR code. The example above was stolen from @willscott, many thanks to him. More may some day be forthcoming. (Only known to work on a Nexus One - any reports eagerly welcomed)

Sweareoke - (github)
Project done by Joe Bain and me at London Music Hackday. It hooked up a Guitar Hero controller to some scrolling kareoke lyrics. You had to play the words, and if you fucked up, it swore at you. Fun, especially when you were on a terrible losing streak.

Terrible Bear - (github)
A bear that you could have a relationship with on twitter. It had emotional states, it said hilarious things, the very concept had us cracking up a whole night at the pub. A Cambridge Friendship Club collaboration.

Cricket Visual Homing - my undergraduate dissertation
Crickets have previously shown the ability to locate a hidden cool spot in a heated arena [Wessnitzer et al., 2008]. A new paradigm was designed to replicated these results in which light levels were changed as the cricket moved across the arena. No learning effect was found, but the crickets had a significant preference for the quarter of the arena in the lights adjacent to the boundary. Three visual homing algorithms, Average Landmark Vector [Lambrinos et al., 1998], Warping [Franz et al., 1998] and Gradient Descent [Zeil et al., 2003] were implemented in four sets of images, three of which were captured within the cricket arena. A robotic implementation was also developed. It was found that the best performing was ALV but only with artificial landmarks. The consistently best performer was Gradient Descent, although Warping was not unsuccessful. Finally, the applicability of these findings as algorithms for crickets and robots was discussed.

Zoo Babies
A attempt at a videogame made with my mates Joe Bain and Stephen Kyle the summer of '09. It worked, but was never much of a game (though it did predict Minecraft's graphics with spooky accuracy - that's a joke)

The Last Jaffa Cake
While I was at university I did much student radio - here's a show I did with Steve. We had much banter, played some fun tunes, and (a highlight) interviewed Gordon McIntyre.
